Online counselling offers accessibility and convenience, allowing clients to receive support from the comfort of their chosen environment. Through a secure digital platform, clients gain flexible scheduling options and broader therapist selection. As a counsellor, our online approach emphasizes creating a virtual space of trust and empathy. We employ verbal cues and active listening to compensate for the lack of physical presence, while using technology to share resources and track progress effectively. Guided by ethical standards, we ensure confidentiality and tailor interventions to individual & couples needs, fostering personal growth, emotional well-being, and positive transformation in a digital landscape.

Hi, I’m Chantelle Efird, an RTCc (Registered Therapeutic Counsellor Candidate) offering low-cost counselling in a supportive, collaborative, and non-judgmental space. I work with adults and teenagers navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, and life transitions. I’m passionate about helping clients develop practical tools to better understand themselves and move forward with confidence.

My interest in counselling grew from being surrounded by mental health challenges within my family, which were often normalized but rarely discussed, which led me to explore them on my own. Through this process of self-discovery, I began to understand patterns I had long questioned—like feeling sick before activities I loved or being perceived as shy. Gaining this insight sparked a deeper curiosity and ultimately inspired me to support others in their own journeys of self-understanding, helping them make sense of their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours.

My approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), focusing on identifying unhelpful thought patterns, building coping strategies, and creating meaningful, sustainable change. Life changes, whether expected or unexpected, can feel overwhelming, especially when paired with anxiety, low mood, or challenges with focus and motivation. Together, we will work to increase self-awareness, strengthen emotional regulation, and develop skills you can use beyond the therapy room.

I strive to make counselling accessible and affordable, and I welcome individuals who may be new to therapy or unsure where to start. You don’t have to navigate this alone; support is available.

Based out of Surrey, BC, and also working remotely, I have a passion for supporting individuals who are carrying the weight of anxiety, depression, self-worth issues, sexual abuse trauma, and family trauma. I know how deeply these experiences can affect the way we see ourselves, our relationships, and our ability to feel safe in the world.

Starting therapy and opening up can feel intimidating. You may not always know what to expect, and that’s okay. My goal is to walk alongside you at your pace, offering a safe, judgment-free space where you can share, process, and reconnect with yourself.

As your counsellor, I see my role as both a steady source of support and a guide who can offer you tools to heal and move forward in life. While we cannot change the past, together we can reduce its hold on the present and future so you can begin to live with more clarity, peace, and confidence in your authentic self.
